Get Involved

We are in the very early stages of this venture. Over the next 6 months we will offer multiple events in neighborhood parks and community centers that will reach out to, welcome and serve the Northern Hays County community — specifically the Kyle/Buda area. We are currently gathering individuals with skills and a desire to bring this church into reality. Would you please prayerfully consider becoming involved.

What is a Launch Team?
The Launch Team are persons who have answered the call to serve together to start a new church. This team meets regularly to pray, plan, invite others and share their gifts in order to make an impact in a new community. Each person should have a pioneering spirit, faith and a commitment to move with the pastor from prayer and visioning to helping others to radiate Christ’s love through worship, work, and play. We are asking for a minimum of a one-year commitment from those on our launch team. Interested? Email Pastor Kyle.

Our Journey Together
Life Groups

Our first Life Group meets on Mondays evenings from 6:30 until 8:00 pm at the home of the Toomire’s at 5761 McNaughton in the Plum Creek neighborhood of Kyle, TX. We will share some great food, great fellowship, great study, and share about The Journey together. Please join us!

We are currently seeking out a place to worship and we are forming teams of people to reach into the different neighborhoods and subdivisions in this area. In the meantime, we are inviting people who would like to become a part to either 1) continue worshiping at their current place of worship or 2) if they do not have a church home then they could come along with us as we visit area churches to see what they are offering and how The Journey might fill any voids that exist.

Some of the places where we have gone in the past:

• Sunday, August 5, 2007, we visited Gruene United Methodist Church in New Braunfels. We were truly blessed to be a part of their service because some pretty amazing things are happening there. This church has given The Journey $4,000.00 for operational expenses and they are less than a year old!
• Sunday, August 12, 2007, we visited Buda United Methodist Church again. We joined Trish Cremers (launch team member) at their 9:40 am service.
• Sunday, August 19, 2007, Pastor Kyle was in Atlanta for training and support. While there, he visited Impact Church 1.0. This church is doing some amazing things and they only kicked off this past January! Check out how they are doing things differently on their website!
• Sunday, August 26, 2007, we visited First United Methodist Church of Kyle. We attended their 11:00 Traditional service.
• Sunday, September 2, 2007, we traveled to Houston and stopped along the way and attended church in Katy at The Crossings. We looked at churches online and picked this one because of their website.
• Sunday, September 9, 2007, we participated in Walk to Emmaus events.
  Sunday, September 23, 2007, we visited Generations Church in Buda. They are a relatively new church in the area and seem to be poised to make a big impact in Buda, TX.
• Sunday, September 30, Kyle was the guest preacher at Jefferson United Methodist Church in San Antonio.
• Sunday, November 25, our Dreaming Team worshipped at Austin Stone.
• Sunday, December 2, we checked out a church that is new to our area - Church of the Cross.
